Why should we all live in a constant state of humility?

First off Jesus said:

Matthew [23:12]- And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased (humbled); and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

We are all a fallen people living in a fallen world and the proof of this decay and decadence is before our eyes daily. Only a blind fool will claim themselves holy, pure and sinless.

Our creator God is the only Holy and perfect being. Jesus the second person of the Trinity, knew the state of our sinful nature, so by His grace and compassion He became sin so that we who believe may be delivered from the consequences of sin which is the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. Jesus, who is God cannot die but when He became full man He died for us, so Him rising from the dead proved His diety and also completed our salvation and resurrection.

The Lord’s perfect righteousness is now ours who believe in Him, it is not a righteousness of our own lest any of us should boast but the righteousness of Jesus Christ is imputed unto us who are in Him, it’s His righteousness not our own.

When the full number of those whom God elected for this salvation come to a close in this Church age, it’s over.

So we need to be humble and learn His word and walk in it, we may fall as we attempt to walk in His light but His Holy Spirit in us will convict us to repent and true believers must be obedient to that conviction and repent.

In this case, those who are in Christ CANNOT loose their salvation, we NEVER earned it in the first place, fake believers will be removed from the true ones as chaff from the wheat or goats from the sheep on the day when Jesus returns in His 2nd coming, but as for the elect in Christ, our salvation is an eternal security, repent and stay humbled.
