This evening we will be discussing ways that you can officially interact with your legislators, congress men/women, the President, and Agencies.  What work’s, what doesn’t?

To listen to the show, tune in at 8 PM EST at Christian Patriots or listen via phone.

The Call-in Line to listen is (646) 668-8952, if you have question and wish to go on the show Press #1, this indicates you are wanting to speak.

You have an issue.  It does not matter what the issue is.  I will walk you through the steps to take to get your voice officially heard and get your message across in a way that public servants cannot ignore.  If they do ignore your official plea then you can hold their feet to the fire with a few easy tools.

I grew up in a home that centered around the government, my father managed public lands in various states.  My playground, if you will, was the marbled halls of the capitol.

I was taught at a very young age to be my own advocate for issues that I am passionate about.  I watched the inner workings of government from my father and I stepped into the pool of government with my own issues.  I made mistakes and got some things right.  What I was not prepared for was to witness doors open that government determined to be locked.  I watched in awe good vs evil in action and discovered I could make a difference even if it was just me.

I was so humbled that I became an official small agriculture lobbyist in the State of Washington, although the issues I lobbied on ended up being diverse.  I was unpaid and actually paid to lobby spending time away from my home, family, friends, and career each legislative session.

We will be covering various aspects of protecting yourself, your privacy, getting your voice heard, securing information, and discovering where and whom gets information that is being request of from you.

To the uninitiated these topics may appear long, tedious, and intimidating.  But I can assure you that using the templates that I created in the trenches your activism is easy!

I would suggest as you embark on your adventure to get a calendar, a phone book, keep meticulous records of people, dates, meetings and such.  Very likely you will need that information because as the good book says, There is nothing new under the sun!

I will try to get through this material but if it is to much for one show I will conclude next week on Flock of Goats Preparedness.

Webinar January 20: The Power of the Web – Free Internet Legal Research

On Wednesday, January 20 at 12 pm (EST), join us in our continuing webinar series sponsored by the Agricultural & Food Law Consortium. Our January webinar, entitled, The Power of the Web: Free Internet Legal Research, focuses on getting the most out of free legal materials on the internet.  As the availability of online legal materials increases, it can be difficult to know where to start and which sites are the most valuable. Legal websites vary drastically in terms of materials collected, scope of coverage and search options. Some are good for finding legal commentary, while others focus on primary law or practical legal materials.

This free, hour-long webinar will teach you to utilize the most efficient free internet legal resources whether you are new to research or a veteran legal researcher. The webinar will also guide you to the most practical free legal materials on the web and demonstrate how to use them effectively.

Congress repeals COOL after WTO rulings

After more than a decade battle, Congress repealed a Country of Origin Labeling Law (COOL) in December.  Now you will be unable to access the country of origin of your food.  COOL was promised to the consumer and to farmers as a stepping stone leading to other federal draconian regulations that they desired to put in place and are now mandatory.  COOL served its purpose.

USDA will increase voluntary and incentive

Farmers, ranchers, and forest land owners are stewards of the land. USDA has a track record of conservation though voluntary programs designed to provide technical assistance for resource management. These efforts fit within USDA’s approach of “cooperative coercive conservation.”

Remember:  Voluntary is the cornerstone for all federal programs.

The Nature Conservancy & Walt Disney Company Collaborate

The Nature Conservancy and USDA are collaborating with private funding from Disney.  This conservation effort allows landowners to reforest their land.  It plays into the in carbon sequestration and habitat restoration scheme. Enrolled partner properties will be transferred to Disney, to help them achieve a portion of their voluntary greenhouse gas emissions reduction goals.  In the short term this turns once vital farms into green amusement parts, but long term it re-wilds and covertly turns the forest off-limits for human and domestic farming uses.

Equilibrium Capital Group & Church Pension Group & the Episcopal Church

The Episcopal Church is kicking off a Wastewater Opportunity Strategy to develop bio-digesters and bio-gas facilities that convert food and farm waste.  What is your church doing to promote the one world agenda?  Shouldn’t the church and faith based religions be sharing the Good News?

The Arbor Day Foundation

Has announced plans to work with 19 different utility partners in 17 states and the District of Columbia place trees into the hands of tree planters as a part of the global carbon scheme for Arbor Day(The last Friday in April)

Saving Trees program

In 2015 Arbor Day Foundation along with electric companies planted 80,000 trees nationwide through the Energy Saving Trees program, engaging nearly 50,000 homeowners.   Why not just save endangered trees in the ground instead of planting GMO trees with RFID?

Walmart & the Environmental Defense Fund

As part of the existing commitment from Walmart to eliminate 20 MMT of greenhouse gas emissions from its supply chain by 2015, EDF has worked with companies including General Mills, Smithfield, and United Suppliers to help Walmart meet its emissions reduction goals through optimized fertilizer management. Over the past year, United Suppliers, in collaboration with EDF, created SUSTAIN to guide the use of technologies for improving nutrient management. United Suppliers recently set a goal of enrolling 10 million acres in the program by 2020, and is committed to developing systems to track and manage participation.  Watch your food prices sky-rocket.
FDA Extends Deadline for ‘natural’ Comments

With more than 3,300 comments having been filed since Nov. 12, the FDA has extended its deadline for accepting public input on the use of the word “natural” on food labels.

Originally the comment period was set to expire on Feb. 10, but “in direct response to requests from the public” FDA is extending the deadline to May 10.
