Seizes Palestinian camp with reports of beheadings, mass killings

The terror group ISIS has taken over a Palestinian refugee camp inside Damascus, only miles from the presidential palace of Syria’s Bashar Assad with reports of mass killing and beheadings.

The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights watchdog group said the Islamist militants have taken over 90 percent of Yarmouk, on the southern edge of the Syrian capital.

“Reports of kidnappings, beheadings and mass killings are coming out from Al-Yarmouk,” said Saeb Erekat, an member of the Palestinian Liberation Organization’s executive committee, Saturday evening. “The priority must be to save the Palestinian refugees in the camp by creating a safe passage for them out of the death trap that Al-Yarmouk has become.”

He called on the United Nations, the International Committee for the Red Crescent and the Syrian government to help evacuate civilians.

  1. Within spitting distance of the Patriarchal Palace and offices of the Syrian Orthodox Church (my ordaining organization) whose new Patriarch has been cooperating with the Assad regime in an effort to not undergo this type of oppression under them. Fat lot of good it did for them. Conspire and appease and you enter into a deal with the devil and who suffers? The very people who make up the Church. The hierarchy does not suffer, they have wealth and political power.
Ever since the Orthodox Church changed and disbanded the Synod of the Laity and moved to complete control by the Synod of Bishops (monastics all) the Church has been in error and the sins of the hierarchy increase, ignoring it’s own tradition passed down from the Apostles that the community of believers is the Church. The servants of the Church (those in Holy Orders) are just that, liturgical servants, called out from the community of believers to be their servant in the liturgical life of that community of believers. They were never intended to be the government of the Church, rather, the servant to God and the community of believers.
Now you know why I am a renegade!
