U.S. Army Sergeant Bowe Berghdal was released May 31 and now will be charged with desertion from the U.S. Army.

Bergdahl, a 28-year-old Idaho native, was returned to the United States during a controversial prisoner swap May 31 that saw five top Taliban commanders released from U.S. custody at Guantanamo Bay in exchange.

Bergdahl disappeared June 30, 2009, reportedly after expressing misgivings about the U.S. military’s actions in Afghanistan.

      1. It is 7am on Thursday. I just read an article where the administration is praising the trade last night because ‘we bring all our soldiers home’. I guess they forgot to add ‘even the ones who joined the other side.’
