Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi
TEL AVIV – Salafist militant sources in the Gaza Strip claimed to WND on Sunday that Islamic State chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is in “good health” and was not killed in air strikes by U.S.-led coalition warplanes.
The sources, tied to Gazan extremist groups close to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, or ISIS, would not detail the origins of their information.
U.S. Central Command Spokesman Patrick Ryder told reporters, “We cannot confirm if [ISIS] leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was among those present,” when a U.S.-led air strike targeted an ISIS gathering in the western Iraqi border town of al-Qaim.
Reuters quoted two witnesses saying the strikes targeted a house where senior ISIS officers were meeting.
