A 6.7 magnitude earthquake struck offshore of Guam Wednesday afternoon local time, or early Wednesday morning EDT.

The earthquake occurred about 30 miles northwest of Hagatna, Guam, reported the USGS.

The depth of the earthquake was measured at 84.9 miles. There is no threat of a tsunami. According to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, “a destructive tsunami was not generated because this earthquake is located too deep inside the earth.”
