Actress Martha Plimpton was met with cheers and applause as she rejoiced at a #shoutyourabortion event that she had her first abortion in Seattle and joked that it was her “best one.”
Plimpton, known for her roles in the films “Small Town Murder Songs,” “Parenthood” and “The Goonies,” as well as sitcoms “The Real O’Neals” and “Raising Hope,” made her remarks in June while interviewing abortionist Willie Parker—a professing Christian—at the event. The video has just now been the subject of controversy.
“Seattle has particular significance for me for lots of reasons. I’ve got a lot of family here, some of whom are in the audience tonight. I also had my first abortion at the Seattle Planned Parenthood. Yay!” she exclaimed, raising her arm in the air as if in celebration.
The audience then broke out into cheers and applause.
