I pray you read with all discernment.

To preface a few things. I saw this article being shared by well over 15 individuals who claim Christ and a love for his truth in his word. My heart aches for the deception within the body of believers.
I am not attacking this movie, nor am I attacking anyone whose lifestyle would not be defined by someone who follows Christ. Really I am not even attacking those who shared this article, I am simple placing truth in front of the lies in hopes that hearts would be willing to see scripture and what the individual who wrote this article is missing completely. I do ask, if you have a rebuttal, bring scripture.

I originally wrote a comment on a facebook post, then my own facebook post, and now this article.

I have in quotations what the article says verbatim, my commentary, and the scripture I would use to respond:

Here is the beginning:

Yes, it is worldly! We shouldn’t place thing before our eyes that we know is sin. 
Yes there is an agenda, so why soften our hearts and conciseness to it?

We know this is a fictional movie. There is nothing wrong with a good story. Where the line needs to be drawn is that, there is an agenda behind the majority of movies and we should not subject ourselves to give attention to it. Do your own research on the luciferian agenda in Hollywood, you will defend it less and less. Why would we, as God-fearing believes, allow even the slightest inkling of what we know goes against the nature and character of God, come before our eyes, even willingly?
Its hard for me to believe this man is really upset when he spends the rest of the article defending this agenda.

As far as this movie, I don’t care to see it. I am not big into Disney. I, again, am not attacking anyone who lives a homosexual lifestyle, or the creators of this movie. My goal here is to exhort the body of Christ unto good works and discernment.

“Al Mohler, at the recent Shepherd’s Conference, summarized this distinction well. He said there’s a difference between culture being infused into a movie and a movie glorifying a particular sin. Gay characters will be the norm in movies from now on. That’s the agenda. The question we should ask is: Does it glorify the sin, or does it discuss/portray an aspect of culture?’

Whom shall we obey? God or Al from a conference? Homosexuality, drunkenness, all sin is nothing new! There is nothing new under the sun. Did Jesus participate in it? No. But he died so we could be free from it. Did his disciples purposefully participate in sin? No! Should we? Why is this even a question? Sin is unavoidable, but we should do all we can to avoid it. Sin is lawlessness.

Should we say that, ‘well we aren’t glorifying sin’ so we can feel good about ourselves when we allow it? We have become okay that the opposite of what God said has become the norm? Why should we even try to separate ourselves or preach the Gospel unto repentance if we should just accept the culture norm. Where is there scripture for accepting the cultural norm. Where did Jesus accept the culture norm? And why is no one else asking these questions?? Our minds should transformed by the word of God, not purposefully polluted in the name of entertainment and tolerance.

and be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

1 John 4:1-3
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

“This is the culture God has appointed for us to raise our children in. We need to know how to live in it and interact with it. Our kids are watching us. Our response to this issue will shape how they live within this culture. As we respond to Beauty and the Beast there are two words that should not characterize us as Christian parents.”

-While yes, this is the time we live, where in scripture does God appoint us to live any different than what he has command us from the beginning? Obey His commands, forever! Our response should not show our children that we are okay with the sin. We should show our children that abstaining from sin is so serious, we should not be entertained by it, we should not defend it, we should not empathize with it. So, our response to letting our kids watch movies that are trying to desensitize them to opposite of what God command? It does not make sense. We are to teach them the ways of the Lord, not the world.

The two words Mr. Al uses that Christian parents should not be characterized as are: Naive and fearful.

The wisdom and judgment needed to be exercised here by any christian, is that which is obtained through scripture and convicted by the Holy Spirit. Anything that would encourage you to overlook the seriousness of sin, and even more so, to subject your children to it is beyond naive.

We should be fearful of the judgment of God.

“If we expect the world to act Christian we will always be let down. Many are crying out, “How could Disney do this!?” Maybe instead our question should be, “What took them so long?” Disney is not a Christian company. Disney is acting exactly the way it is supposed to act.”

-I would never except the world to act like God-fear Christians, I do however expect God-fearing Christians to not act worldly. This article is reeking of excuses and soft reasoning, void of scripture and the character of God.

Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

“I think deep down we hope the evil in this world will spare our kids. But evil is no respecter of persons. When we see Disney peddling homosexuality as normal it’s like watching someone pass out candy-covered cyanide to children. We gasp in horror and say, “What’s this world coming to?” But we already have the answer. God tells us that “the world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever.” (1 John 2:17) For the Christian there are no surprises – only evidences of God’s promises coming true. “

-I think this guy just wants people to feel comfortable in their sin and complacency. 
This guys says evil is no respecter of persons? My Bible says: Acts 10:34-35 Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons. But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.” Yes Mr. Al. The verse you uses says the one who does the will of God lives forever.

Please, even stop reading this now and go read the whole chapter of 1 John 2.**********

“We should be angry at sin, but never shocked. Shock means we got too comfortable here. It means we made ourselves at home in the enemy camp and we were offended when the enemy tried to kill us in our sleep. It means we have forgotten that we are “aliens and strangers.” (1 Peter 2:11) “

-We should be angry at sin, but not call it out. I would like to know how exactly being angry at sin should look if abstaining from it and calling it for what it is is the wrong response. 

I am to believe that not being shocked and disgusted at the evil filth that sin is, means we are comfortable?? How does that even make sense? If we are comfortable in our sin then it won’t shock us. Christians – do not allow culture and false teachings, such as this article, allow you to become comfortable with sin!
This type of ‘culture’ in all reality is the sinful nature, which is anything apart from Christ.
The Holy Spirits job is to convict us of sin, not allow us to be entertained by it!

“Have you heard about the gay character in Bambi? How about in The Lion King, Pinocchio, or The Jungle Book? These are just a few of the movies I have heard Christians crossing off their lists this week because of suspicious homosexual undertones.”

-Good for them! Add me to that list. Not even a hint of immorality.
But wait, you say I am going to far? This means that you might as well not turn on the tv or radio?
If that’s what it has to be, then yes. Or do you love this world more than you love God.

And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.

“We can train ourselves to see evil everywhere, but that is not the mark of a discerning Christian. It taints our joy and makes us fearful. This is still God’s world. He created music. He created color. As discerning Christians we want to teach our kids how to take the good and leave the bad. “

What in the name of anti-Christ is this guy talking about. So being able to judge between holy and profane, good and evil, right and wrong is not the mark of a discerning Christian?! This is ludicrous. 

And is justification to his statement that makes no sense; That knowing the distinction of good and evil taints out joy and oh, that God created color?
We teach our kids the real deal so that they have discernment about the counterfeits. .or do you put your kids hand on a hot stove and burn them so they know it’s wrong? Come on.

“Christians can take comfort in the fact that a gay Disney character doesn’t change anything. Mankind’s basic need for a savior is still the same. The hope of the gospel is still the same. And as God’s people, our job is still the same as well. “

This is not a comforting statement. This is the kind of statement made when we want to make excuses like: ‘Sin, well it’s been around forever, just get used to it.’

If you believe this, please read your bible. The first this Jesus preached was ‘REPENT!!

“Yes, Hollywood has an agenda – but so do we. If Hollywood is trying to indoctrinate our kids then we must indoctrinate them first. -Now he is quoting the Torah. The law of God. Which many will say is done away with. To which I would strongly and scripturally disagree. (if you don’t agree with this statement, that does give you ammo to disregard any other statement)
This talks about talking about the commands and laws of God every where and every how. To which I would agree. 
What does Gods law say about abstaining from evil and being separate from the world? We must teach them the commands of God. Sin is not to be dealt with lightly, we should not be so comforted by it.

If we know there is an evil agenda against or kids, why subject them to it even more than they already are?

“We must raise alien children – children who are not surprised by or afraid of this culture, but know how to impact it for the gospel. We have the beautiful privilege of praying for our kids what Jesus prays for us: “I do not ask that You take them out of the world, but that You keep them from the evil one.” (John 17:15)”

According to this we desensitize our children so they are not shocked by sin, so that when they hear or even share the gospel there is no urgency to turn from their sin (which is repentance). 
By allowing them to become desensitize we are keeping them from the evil one? 
We need to give them scripture. Truth. 
Not this garbage.

Aliens are often referred to in scripture as someone who does not belong. We would use that term as Christians describing our residency on this earth. Therefore, we have a different way of thinking and different set of laws, we are acting like the world when we conform to their ideology and acceptance of what they deem, well. . acceptable.

My hope in prayer is that your hearts will not be hardened by reading this, but that you would be willing to reconsider what you have allowed to rule in your hearts. (2 Corinthians 13:5)

This article is not a personal attack on anyone. Please read my beginning paragraph to reiterate. We know scripture tells us that many false teachers will rise up (1 Peter 2). We know the enemy is smart, he has been at this game for a while.

I can hear someone saying ‘Chill, its just a movie.’ Yes, but hear what I am saying in all this, or better yet, read the scriptures.

I say this to myself daily:

1. Test everything to scripture. I’m not just talking about the few verses in articles, I am talking about testing it to the whole Word. To the nature and character of who God is.

2. Always have a heart willing to change. My favorite thing to pray is: ‘Lord, show me where I am wrong. Show me how to change, even if my traditions get in the way.’
